Food Security and Livelihoods Sector at Salam Yemen Foundation
Towards eliminating hunger and promoting sustainability
Believing that food is a fundamental right for all, and that combating hunger and malnutrition is a pressing humanitarian priority in Yemen, Salam Yemen Foundation's Food Security and Livelihoods sector stands as a central pillar of our strategy. We strive to ensure that the most vulnerable families have access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food, empowering them to build a more stable future.
Food Security and Livelihoods Sector Objectives:
The sector mainly aims to:
- Meeting the urgent food needs of the poorest and most marginalized families in Yemen, with special attention to female-headed households, children, the elderly, and people with special needs.
- Ensuring that people have access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food on a sustainable basis, enabling them to lead healthy and active lives and protecting them from the risks of hunger and malnutrition.
- Strengthening household resilience and sustainably improving livelihoods to reduce dependence on external aid and build self-reliance.
- Contributing to achieving family and community stability by improving food security.
Our approach to work:
To achieve these goals, the Food Security and Livelihoods Sector at Salam Yemen Foundation adopts an integrated approach that combines urgent relief interventions with sustainable development projects.
